Round 4 Open Boys Football Results

12.08.20

Open Boys A

Cardijn College def. Norwood (Forfeit)

Open Boys B

Cardijn College 13.19 (97) def. Adelaide High School 4.4 (28)

The team travelled to the grounds of Adelaide High School in search of back to back victories for the first time of the season. The boys had the majority of possession in the first quarter but were not converting their opportunities kicking 1 goal 7 to Adelaide High’s 2 goals 2. The squad dug deep and responded in the second quarter kicking 5 goals to none. They didn’t look back and ran out comfortable victors by 69 points. Another great convincing win by the boys!

Key contributors for the game were Shaun Havers, who played his best game of Cardijn Football to date, controlling the ball and willing it forward at haste. The team was complemented by the return of Jacob Comley, whose grunt work and determination was evident all game. New to Cardijn on the Marcellin Campus was Lachlan Hamilton, who was clean and skilful, setting up several goal opportunities with some silky plays. The tall timber duo of Sebastian Oliver and Kyle Marshall gave the midfield first usage at the stoppages as well as got to key areas around the ground to make an impact. First-year footballer Caleb Kirk didn’t put a foot wrong once again and has shown some magnificent growth over the first 4 games of the season.

The boys are back at home next week (19/8) to take on Unley High School at 3:45pm! Get down there and show some support to this exciting young team!
