CARDIJN COLLEGE

Introducing Laeken and Le Rosey

Cardijn College is proud to officially announce the names of our new Senior school area and building at Marian Campus.

These names have been chosen with deep meaning and intention, honouring both our heritage and the future of our young people.

These names are symbolic reminders of who we are as a Catholic and Marist community, and who we are called to be.

We thank the many members of our community who contributed to the consultation process, especially Ms Judith Botha, APRIM, and we look forward to seeing Laeken and Le Rosey become part of our Cardijn story for generations to come.

Introducing Laeken

Our new Senior school area at Marian Campus will be known as Laeken.

Laeken was the first parish of Joseph Cardijn in Brussels, a working-class district where he began forming young people in leadership, action and faith. It was there that his “See, Judge, Act” method took shape, empowering young workers to reflect on their reality and respond with courage and conviction.

In naming this space Laeken, we honour Cardijn’s belief that all young people are worth more than all the gold in the world.

As our students enter their Senior years, Laeken represents formation, leadership and the deep conviction that each young person is known, loved and capable of shaping the world.

Introducing Le Rosey

Our new Senior school building will be named Le Rosey.

Le Rosey was the childhood home of St Marcellin Champagnat in Marlhes, France. It was in this humble home that Marcellin first experienced the love, faith and encouragement that shaped his vocation.

In naming this building Le Rosey, we celebrate our Marist identity and the enduring call to educate young people, we must love them and love them all equally.

Le Rosey will be a place of growth, belonging and aspiration. It is a space where young people are supported to thrive academically, spiritually and personally.
