Year 9 Religion – Planting Seeds of Gratitude

In Year 9 Religion, our students have been reflecting on gratitude, generosity, and service. To put these values into action, we came together as a class to give back to our school community in a meaningful way.

Together, we planted beautiful, vibrant flowers in the Tangka student gathering area. These flowers serve as a living symbol of kindness, hope, and care for all who visit. Students demonstrated philanthropy by making gold coin donations to help purchase the plants. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and willingness to contribute have made this project truly special.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our parents, caregivers, and students for their support. Through this collective effort, our Year 9 students have not only brightened our school grounds, but also deepened their sense of gratitude and compassion, discovering the true joy that comes from giving.

Last week, we gathered to create our very own “Gratitude Garden,” working together as hopeful pilgrims to care for the environment and strengthen our sense of community. We are grateful for all we have and for the chance to give back in this way.

Why a Gratitude Garden matters…

Planting flowers at school does more than beautify—it supports student well-being, encourages empathy, and builds pride in our shared spaces.
